GSA exercises 5 year contract renewal option with Fiorano for IT Schedule 70 COTS software
Fiorano to power integration middleware across US Federal & State Agencies
LOS GATOS, California, August 22, 2011 – Fiorano Software, Inc. (www.fiorano.com), a pioneer in peer-to-peer, REST-based SOA and integration platform technology, today announced the US General Services Administration (GSA) has exercised its option to extend its IT Schedule 70 Contract (GS35F0390L) with Fiorano for a further period of 5 years. Supplies include Fiorano's complete product stack and services under NAICS 511210, 541511 and 541512.
The contract includes Cooperative Purchasing, Disaster Recovery and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) ordering activities by State and Local Agencies and covers Recovery Projects.
"The GSA IT Schedule 70 is a powerful mechanism for accelerated adoption of technology by the US Federal Government. We are pleased to exercise our option to extend our contract to 2015 with Fiorano Software, a leading provider of enterprise-class integration middleware to the US Government.
Great Government through Technology means that we empower government agencies to better execute their core mission by making it easier for them to acquire the latest in technology products, services and solutions in a cost-effective, timely manner," said Ms. Patricia Duncan, CO, GSA. Last year over $16 billion was procured through the GSA IT Schedule 70; with Software at ($1.9 billion or 12%), Hardware ($3.4 billion or 21%) and Services ($11 billion or 67%).
Recently in the news for the astounding productivity gains enabled by the US Coast Guard through its SOA initiative, "SPEAR" (deployed entirely on the Fiorano ESB platform), Fiorano has expanded its offering in line with the Federal CIO's cloud strategy, adding the Fiorano Cloud Platform including an iPaaS (integration Platform as a Service) offering to its product stack; the world?s first hybrid cloud platform built on a distributed peer to peer technology, it enables linearly scalable and high-performance integration across PaaS, SaaS and on-premise systems.
"Fiorano has over a decade of experience in handling complex SOA systems and delivers a product that requires half the time and half the programmers for a project in comparison with available alternatives. With tight budgets and compressed delivery schedules, Fiorano becomes the solution of choice for Government and Defense Agencies", said Atul Saini, CEO of Fiorano. "We also expect widespread adoption of our cloud platform by Agencies as they accelerate toward a more cost-effective and integrated world across SaaS, PaaS and on-premise", he added.
Fiorano is also rapidly growing through teaming and sub-contracting arrangements with other Prime Contractors under the GSA; it is registered in CCR for supplies to the US Department of Defense. Federal customers include Department of Homeland Security, FAA, US Coast Guard, Bit Systems, ITT Corp, Mitre Corp, JPL-NASA, Business Transformation Agency, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman among others.
