European Logistics Giant Fraikin deploys Fiorano SOA Platform to power electronic traffic fine
and inventory management systems

Fiorano Software, pioneer in peer-to-peer distributed integration, announced that its SOA Platform has been deployed by Fraikin, a leading Logistics Giant in Europe.

LOS GATOS, California, September 07, 2010 – Fiorano Software, pioneer in peer-to-peer distributed integration, today announced that its SOA Platform has been deployed by Fraikin, a leading Logistics Giant in Europe. Fraikin has used Fiorano to deploy an electronic communication platform and to manage inventory across its geographically distributed facilities. The implementation of the Fiorano Solution at Fraikin was done by JVL, a leading system integrator and software solutions provider in France.

A leading vehicle fleet service provider in Europe, Fraikin has a fleet of over 40,000 vehicles. With such huge fleet on the road, incidents of traffic infringement are not uncommon - Fraikin receives over 12,000 traffic fines including parking and speeding tickets per year, all of which were being processed manually. With a government mandate to automate traffic fines and claims, Fraikin was under pressure to comply with the new directives and build a platform to facilitate electronic communication with the Government.

After an evaluation of several platforms, Fraikin selected the Fiorano Middleware SOA Platform to deploy their electronic communication platform. Using Fiorano's unique event-driven architecture, Fraikin rapidly developed a series of event processes to exchange and process traffic fines, enabling them to quickly put in place a solution that was compliant with the new Government regulations and enabled accurate and error-free record management of Fraikin's extensive fleet of vehicles.

"We worked closely with Fiorano while implementing the integration platform at Fraikin. With Fiorano, we were able to meet Government-mandated communication specifications and timelines. Fraikin's communication with the Government is now in sync with the specified regulations and their traffic fine processing system is streamlined to meet the demanding traffic penalty scenario in France" , said Franck Lerivrain, Development Manager, Fraikin.

"The biggest challenge for Fraikin was to build a rapidly deployable integration platform, compliant with the Government norms. The platform had to meet key requirements of interoperability, ease of use and deployment, scalability and extensibility to other applications. Fiorano met all of these requirements" , said Atul Saini, CEO, Fiorano.

Fraikin has already extended its use of the Fiorano SOA Platform to manage its complex warehouse inventory across over 200 integrated service facilities. The Fiorano SOA platform, together with its diverse set of adapters is being used to unify and merge data from different sources and formats into a one unified repository. Fraikin's existing legacy applications are also integrated and exposed to standard Web Service-based gateways using Fiorano's pre-built adapters, allowing Fraikin's partners and service facilities applications to co-exist with their legacy applications, adding to the overall ROI of this investment.
