Extended Services are composite applications created as event-driven assemblies of microservices (also known as Business Components) linked to each other by Data Routes. The components can be made to run on a single JVM with the server group acting as runtime containers for processing microservices while peer server can dedicate itself to managing routes and destinations, and communicating metadata with microservices. These extended services can be launched on multiple peer servers with the components launched on each peer server present in the specified server group.
Extended services are designed by the drag-drop-connect function of microservices. The components are customized by configuration rather than by custom code. The routes between components are drawn by visually connecting the component ports. Every component instance in the flow can be configured so that it can be deployed on different ESB network nodes.
