Certain hardware and software specifications need to be met for the system where the Fiorano servers (Enterprise server—FES and Peer server—FPS) and associated tools are to be installed. Such specifications are listed in the below sections.

Operating System

The following Operating Systems were tested and found working well on the Fiorano Servers:

  • Windows Server 2003/2008/2012/2016  (32-bit or 64-bit)
  • Windows 7/8/10
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4/5/6
  • CentOS 5.3/5.5/6.2/6.5
  • HPUX 11i
  • IBM AIX 5x
  • Solaris X86, Solaris Sparc
  • Mac 10.9.2

Java Version

We recommend using 1.7 or higher versions of Java.

  • External Database for ESB: There is a feature called Document Tracking which can be used to track messages. By default, all the exception messages are tracked into the default file database. To use this feature, it is required to use an external database, for example, Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostGre etc. If there is no probability of using the External Database, consider turning it off.
  • Lock File server for HA: For an HA environment, you need to setup a Lock File in a different machine. One Lock File Machine is needed per environment with a 1KB file for each server. This machine can have a very basic configuration as mentioned above.

Environment-specific Specifications

The recommended specification required in the real-time environment where the message flow increases and load on the servers get high.

Recommended specification provided below is for a Usual Load scenario, but the actual specification depends on various parameters which vary on a case to case basis. We need to set the parameters after thoroughly analysing the actual load with optimum utilisation.
