A valid SMTP configuration is required to configure the mail server and use this server to send and receive emails. It enables sending Analytics notification emails, connect with the Developer Portal etc.
The SMTP server can be secured as well as you can set authentication by securing it using user name and password credentials.

Attributes | Description |

Server Name | Provide the SMTP Server name. You may provide 'localhost' if the server is running in the system in which you are working. |
Smtp Server Port | Provide the port number of the SMTP server port. |
Server Connection Type | Select from the option: SSL/TLS STARTTLS |
Authentication Required | Select 'yes' if you want to set authentication by securing it using username and password credentials; retain 'no' if it is not required. |
After providing the preferred values, the configuration can be tested by clicking the Validate button and saved by using the Save button.
